I had a sports related injury and went to the chiropractor the following morning, a Monday. the pain was terrible and I couldn't lift my leg higher than my right ankle without hurting. Getting around was really painful. The chiropractor did not actually fix my problem until the 4 days later after 3 days of tests and miscellaneous treatments. After the first day, I told him clearly i was hurting and dissapointed each of the 3 days after the first day. Here is a summary of what happend:
Day 1: Monday morning, we did the usual x-rays but on that day, he manipulated my spine, and other miscellaneous ticks and I told him that he didn't fix it, it was the same pain as when i walked through the door, he said we need to schedule another visit, despite all the work he did outside of the issue. Day 2: The doctor again did muscle testing and using his ?pool cue? adjusted vertebrae and then proceeded to work on what I thought was going to be my left lower back Put me in a position that was to pop my right hip (not my left hip which is where I was injured). Day 3: I was then being worked on by his assistant. She was in the area that needed help, but she either did not have the strength to do the job on my leg to pop it into place or was doing the wrong procedure. I informed her that it didn?t work and felt very worried at that point because this was their specialty and I?m still in pain. I informed begged her to try again and she said we need to reschedule a follow up visit. Day 4: I requested that we meet and discuss all the tests and therapy treatments I?ve been getting but and talk about the serious lack of attention on where my injury is. I completely felt as though I was being taken advantage of being forced to go through ?therapy? exercises while I was clearly in pain and very vocal about being so. At this point, I was taken directly to see the Doctor who immediately laid me down and instantly fixed my injury by doing a procedure I wish could have been administered on Monday I feel incredibly taken advantaged of, considering I had to take 4 days of work off, and pay out the wazzoo for all of this testing and shiat. What would you do? My concern is that he never treated the obvious problem, there was not 1st attempt, 2nd attempt, 3rd attempt, he basically would not address the issue at all and it wasn't until i said, no more tests! I want this fixed now! that he pulled it right out and fixed it. |

I don't know if you have ever had chiropractic treatment before, but I have seen 3 different Chiropractors in my life. You never get relief on the first visit, it is normal for it to take 3 or 4 or more visits depending on the seriousness of your injury. The doctor should have explained the process to you during the first visit.

I love how people put rude answers, its so nice. Now that depends, i am not a chiropractor so i couldnt tell you what they did and what they didnt. While it DOES take a few times for it to go all smoothly, i would take the X-rays to a different chiropractor, making sure its not from the same branch and see what he says about the issue.

When you have an injury, you go to a Doctor, for Christs sake.
If you choose to go to a Chiropractor instead of getting real medical treatment, what do you expect to happen? Richard |
