does anyone else struggle getting in/fitting in an mri scanner

i been in these things twice now and both times i had to leave my head out, this was for my lower back so i was able to leave head and shoulders out, first time i went in head first i could not breath and had to get pulled out quickly! it was a real panic attack feeling. I also hardly fit in them, my shoulders squash against the sides and this time they wanted me to do one for my shoulder, so my head would be half way down the tube, i had to refuse cos 1 i hardly fit if at all, and 2 i cant breath

I've had it done on my shoulder a couple of times...elbow...knee.

Some places offer "open mri." It's kind of open.

I don't fit in them either. I wear a 52 coat...my shoulders just don't work well in there. If they ever get me crammed into one, then I can sleep like mad in there.

I just went for an MRI last month for my back and hardly fit into the tube, my shoulders hit on both sides. I'm no where near as big as I used to be. Made me laugh thinking about obese people trying to squeeze in there.

I didn't know they had stand up ones. They always tell me to lie perfectly still. That would probably prove quite difficult standing. But I'm sure it has its uses for specific areas of the body.
