well, vbookie was fun, changing people titles was fun. Some of the rules here might have steered people away. not and open board, no pornography common guys are jacked on testosterone. Open it up for sponsors to advertise, pro hormones even. I know lion had the run of the place last time. His reputation was hit or miss I can't say much though I never used anything. Just hear say on here... Another sure fire way, which brought me and I think most of the original people of IFL was to referel program. I forget what the prize was 1000 dbol if I'm not mistaken. Now I know this costs money to do and WHO's going to pay for it? Not me I'm broke... I miss Mallet, Vegas, Swellin, and Cyc and his side kick Rob. I use to be able to get on here any hour day or night and there would be someone to talk to. Maybe ORD made posters turn lurkers. I learned most of my knowledge at this board... Now that I'm thinking about the old board what ever happened to LOZ?

Maybe something that is more appealing to regular humans. "weight loss" is the first thing that comes to mind. It wouldn't appeal to the normal "gimme some steroids" crowd, but there are a lot of people out there.

just and a gamming console section you'll have all kid on new computer nerds joining
seriously though, you have to ask yourself what can this board offer new members? The way I see it is it's slow......... If you ask a question it could take days to get a response, why would someone wait when they could just go to another board where there's always someone online... Allot how IFL use to be.. Someone took all the fun out of this board and tried to make it more structured... Damn Communist

yea but weight loss is simple DIET and exercise, most people just want weight loss in a pill. It's the American way, they make a pill for everything.

Why did people come here in the first place?

-Because they knew someone else they really respected or liked and they knew they'd get good advice from them and there was a good atmosphere. Everyone escaped from AR's b.s. and followed the leaders who they really respected... Problem is that most of those 'old guys' aren't big posters, if at all, anymore.

I only go to 4 other boards (1 daily, and 2 regularly, and the last sporadically) Each because of who's on there and what I can learn.

You need people on here who want to learn more, and you need people who can teach them more. And for the 'teachers', they need several other brainiacs to discuss their more difficult questions with.

Some sort of incentive needs to be given to a few of the more knowledgeable guys to come in and start posting articles, fresh material etc etc. What that is, I dunno..? Maybe let some online trainers solicit their services free if they post up articles and hang out/answer questions.

Just some random thoughts. I'm tired haha.

what happened to IFL?

Frankly, I do NOT truly care if OJ and I are just talking to each other as long as it is a discussion that I can be proud of or enhances the body of knowledge or helps someone in some way. And if no one else shows up because we dont have anything goes lounge or porn section I really could care less.

However, i have found that people seem to like the boards i have administered over the years and that mostly comes from having set the tone as to what is allowed and what is not allowed and getting staff that are even better than either OJ or myself.

With this new board, and to reward the untold amount of work that has gone into making PMM possible, especially by OJ - I definitely want to make sure that it is not denigrated by what is posted on it. In short, I hope to see it become what AR could have been. Certainly it is not my intention to treat anyone like crap and I hope that everyone will be fine once getting used to the new rules and all will be peachy - but if not, it will not bother me a whit to bounce a few people to enforce the proper direction of the board.
I believe that sums up the death of IFL quite nicely. From a business aspect, a private 'donation' board would of kept most of us around, and allowed us to share information tailored to our specific lifestyles. By that I mean those of us that lift, use a little and will never compete.

A board with an active lounge would of allowed the admins/owners to pick who they wanted to allow into a 'donation' section. But alas, what do I know? Hindsight is 20/20 and the concerns against the changes were simply dismissed with post like that above.

The direction of the board was chosen rightfully by the owners. Those of us that stay and use/post here do so at their discretion. Let the topic die, let IFL die. Even though it was mainly 'post whores' and didn't really live a dignified life, at least allow it a dignified death.
