Dextrose? Flax?

What exactly is Dextrose and Flax and what do they do. I here so many answers from people that are differant. Can any body give me a good explanation on this? Trying to learn a little more about supplements that I want to start doing on pre and post workouts. Thanks

Dex = glucose, pure corn sugar

flax = linseed, contain omega 3 fatty acids
