My wife drives a Denali with the older 6.0. I drive a Denali truck with the new vette motor in it, the 6.2. If I set the cruise at 64mph, I get 21mpg. If I drive like normal...85-100, I get 14mpg. She gets 14.5mpg driving like a normal person in hers. We drive a lot though.

quick question swellin. how long did u train before u first competed and at what age did u start? i wrestled for 7 yrs and trained bjj for about a year come january. thinking about starting a bjj and muay thai split in the next month as ive never technically "trained" my striking. just wondering bc im 22 and actually want to see if im not too old to compete.

I started training seriously at age 33. I trained for 10 months before taking my first fight. I had no wrestling background, just bar room stuff. I would certainly recommend some stand up work before fighting. Boxing and Thai would be perfect. At your age...you are perfect for the sport. You are old enough to know a bit about your body, and young enough to train and recover. No way in hell are you too old.

Swell you only trained 10 months before your first fight? Dam dude. Are you worried about getting injured? Is that a reality or are the refs more cautious with "entry level" fighters (being your first fight and all)?

No...I'm not concerned with it...no...they aren't either. lol

In the big name tournaments, they stop fights a little early in order to protect the fighters. But the two tournaments I've fought in had 250+ fighters in each of them. Since it's the biggest tourney each year and the big event...they try to protect the fighters a little bit by stopping fights a little earlier than they would have been if it were in a regular venue.

The refs typically TRY to call every fight at a given event exactly the same...regardless of experience et cetra.
