Did any of you see that? The UFC fight between Lesnar and Mir. RIDICULOUS!
Right off the start Mir went in for punches...which didn't do sh*t to Lesnar. He just grabbed him and tackled him down to the ground as if Mir is a child. He was literally wrestling him on the ground. NONE OF MIRS PUNCHES DID ANYTHING TO LESNAR! The man is a f*cking beast. Mir kept trying to grab onto Lesnar's arms while on the ground but Lesnar just kept punching as if nothing was holding his arms. Then the ref gave Lesnar a 1pt warning for striking the back of Mir's head.....that was bs. He hardly got him. After they separated, Mir knew that he has no chance on the arms so he went for the legs. At that point Lesnar's inexperience got him. F*CK! That was a ridiculous fight! Lesnar is a great fighter. Watch his fights! After the fight Mir even said it in the interview, "I tried getting a lock on his arms but... this guys arms, man." Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Steve Austin, and Sable were all in the crowd as well. |

He's a big guy and all but nothing really impressed me. He's just big and powered his way through the whole fight. He would have blown his wad pretty quick if the fight continued on. Nothing technical on the ground and really no stand up to be seen. I'm sure he'll get some wins under his belt but his instinct of "Kill this guy as fast as you can" will always overwhelm him. He wasn't screwed out of anything. I dont think he should have had a point taken away but it didnt make the difference.

What was amazing was the way Noguiera stood with Sylvia for 10 minutes plus and took the punishment and got Sylvia to the ground and submitted him in 1 minute. Nog really showed why he is one of the best in the world. And to be honest if Fedor was never around Nogueira would be the most dominant figure in all of MMA for the last 8 years. He is truly unbelievable.

The average UFC nowadays doesn't want to watch two guys hug each other for the entire fight or lay on the ground and hope for an opening. Didn't he train for 20 months? That's what I thought was weird. He didn't really do anything that I wouldn't have thought that he wasn't going to do,but he is exciting to watch. Not a lot of guys would come in take a fight with a guy that caliber, and have the guy in the position he was. I think the fact that Mir has trained his whole life to fight and Lesnar hasn't that is also appealing. |
