hey bud. i ccan feel your pain. i am in the infantry and when i first came in i had the same problem it actualy developed into stress fracture on my tibia and fibia. shin splints is actualy tendonitis from what i ahev learned. sretching does help but its not a cure. what has worked for me is first and formost is rest. and strecting really good before and after exercise. especialy the stretch that i put my heel on the ground and then oy toes up on a wall and stretch the achiles tendon and my calf. also get on your knees and sit on your heels so you toes are flat on the ground. i would also take a look at the supplement cissus it works wonders for this type of injury. i think one of the most important things i did was to go to a real runners shoe store where they will fit you foe the shoe you need. the one i went to had me run on a treadmill that shored exactly how my feet were impacting the groud, and it was all sorts of jacked up. i over pronate very badly which put alot of added stress on my legs when i am running. well anyway good luck with it and esp. with your deployment. where are you going? i am in the sandbox right now.
