Yes, good point Swellin...although humbug on you for ruining my wet dream! Although I am a Ford diesel fan, I would seriously like to see a viable alternative from a non-US manufacturer.

LB, take one for a rip.....I can't help but wonder how much ball busting one would have to endure from hillbillies and redneck friends about having a Jap truck. Honestly tho I could care less.....I have never regretted buying a Honda, Toyota, or Mitsubishi motor product. I have had many, many regrets owning Ford, Chev, John Deere, etc.

I guess I'm just the redneck ball buster on this one. I understand what you mean about competition though. But isn't the GM diesel made by a Jap company? After all, it is an Isuzu.

I've always liked the bigger trucks. The thing I like best about the Ford is it's size. It has more room than the GM. It sits up higher too. The dodge...well, it's a dodge. lol
Toyota has always made a practically bullet proof truck. But the little trucks cost as much as the big trucks from the big three. As for dependability, I've had GM trucks that rivaled any yota you've ever seen. My current Duramaxx had been abused in ways that should be criminal (and in some respects were...hauling over 30k lbs behind the thing at 85mph for 500+ miles without stopping for anything but diesel). So a few laws were broken. I've beat this thing to death, and it refuses to give me trouble. I've given it every reason imaginable, but it just keep going. The only thing it's been in the shop for was an EGR valve. Well, I was running rusty red diesel in it the whole time I was hauling this equipment around and pulling trailers...working it down in the gulf. That's certainly not the truck's fault. How it never ate an injector, I'll never understand.

You would be hard pressed to convince me to try anything else.

I'm with you on the big truck feel, swell. I'm still torn up on what truck i'm going to buy. I did take the new GMC out and i have to say it was balls out. If it came with a 6 speed manual, i'd own one this very minute. This is why i keep thinking about the dodge. Ford and GM do not offer a manual and it pisses me right off. The IFS in the new GMC doesn't turn my crank, but i could live with it because the ride is as smooth as a shaved twat. But i just can't bring myself to buy the auto tranny.

Ok, 1 month later and I almost have the friggin thing tuned and running correct...It's all about finding the right people. We ran around for weeks looking for modified fuel rails, fuel pressure relief valves and dual feed lines. Turn out the whole surging problem was in the friggin tst programmer, took the rail sensor gauge out and put the stock one back in and bam, no surging and this bastard gets it on. Still waiting for the custom tune back from tst so I can stack it with the bullydog crazy larry and then off to the dyno. I'm begging on 800+ HP to the ground...
