Well, still waiting on the custom tuning but it seems to be getting dialed in...The settings for the fuel are for 1 injector pump so having 2, I had to turn those down and we found a setting on the tst for twin turbo's so now it finally boosts the full 70 lbs instead of stopping at 50...Doesn't seem to be throwing engine codes anymore so hopefully that is resolved. They just thew the bully dog back in but wre are gonna wait til everything is broke in to add the crazy larry setting...It's pretty wild

Geez! This thing sounds pretty hardcore.

I'm reading all about the different stuff for the Fords and the Chevys. I hate Dodge, so I ruled that one out. The Cummins is cool and you can make more power with that motor than either of the others. I just hate Chrysler.

I am thinking of getting an 05 Excursion and doing some minor stuff to it. They are just slow as shit. I hate the issues with the 07-08 stuff, so I want to stay away from it. I'm thinking of using an SCT with an Innovative Diesel tune....and an aurora turbo kit....meth...4" exhaust with a cat delete pipe...afe cold air.

For the GM, the EFILive is the program to use. Otherwise, I would probably go with that PPE Hot+2.
I just turned up the triple dog to the extreme setting on my Duramax today...no other mods, so the EGT has to be pretty high. I raced my Dad's new Denali truck. I blistered the tires (33x12.50 Nitto Terra Grapplers) because I hadn't launched this thing on the highest setting before. I feathered it and then hit it again...lighting up the tires again. He pulled me about a truck length, and I caught him...we were even at 75mph and that Duramax really takes off at about 85mph. Unfortunately, we met a car and I slammed on the breaks to let him in. He admitted that the Dmax would have taken him. But we were taking his to the shop for exhaust/afe/diablo/NOS/lowering. He's 64 and just wants it faster and lower so it's easier to get in and out.. lol

Here's a pretty bad "streetable" Dmax that is very hot.

I've been away from the 7.3's for awhile but it's a great motor. My egt's were always very low and mileage was good. If you go that route, I'd get the bullydog and stack it with the sct...If you don't use the SCT, the edge and tst also stack with the bully dog. You shouldn't need a bigger intercooler. If you don't want to shell out he cash for twin's, the aurora 5000 is a badass turbo. Too bad the injectors are such a bitch to chage on the powerstrokes, that's why I never did mine...I'd do a 4" downpipe and exhaust, the air intake,, and the high ram intake...That's about as far as you can go before you do the injectors, water meth, nitrous etc....

Snow sells meth for them that's pretty darn sporty.

The 05 has the shitty 6.0L in it instead of the 7.3. They switched to the 6.0 in 04. Innovative Diesel works custom tunes on the SCT so you don't need to stack chips. People are saying that the difference between a programmer and an ID tuned one is the same as a stock truck and one with a programmer. Folks are using the Commander from Quadzilla as a monitoring device and running the ID tuned SCT. I like the Magnaflow exhaust best. Putting 4" exhaust on a 6.0 actually hurts the low end torque. I've done it and witnessed it first hand. I think the magnaflow 4" with an MBRP cat delete pipe would be sweet though. They also make a muffler delete pipe, but that's not for me.

S small lift and some 20" wheels with 35x13.50s on them will look sharp. You have to be careful with these things because as soon as you put very much on them, they shit the tranny...I don't mean LordBlitz either.

Having driven every one of the big 3's offerings since mid to late 90's for 100's if not 1000's of miles each I must say as much as I love the diesels, if I were even thinking of getting a truck it would be without a doubt the Toyota Tundra:
Toyota Tundra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This one absolutely takes the cake IMO.....the Toyota truck stomps the American ones on the same order of magnitude the Camry stomped all of the mid size American sedans a ways back. Toyota.....across the board they are just simply a better vehicle IMO. On the upside, more competition will force the big 3 to innovate and build better trucks.

Unfortunately for the Toyota fans, they are not selling that truck yet. So if you need a diesel...or even want one right now....all you can do is buy a picture of the Tundra and dream of the diesel in it. So a future version of a truck doesn't count for this discussion.

I'd love to know just what the toyota has to offer. I've never been into the jap trucks myself, but i'm sure the yoda would take home the gold for fuel mileage.
