Default MRI and CT results

as some of you may know I have been sick and nobody can figure out what is wrong. Well last week my Neuro sent me for a MRI of the brain with contrast. He told me it looked good but then said that he wanted a CT scan just to see. Today I get a call from his nurse who tells me that my CT scan shows a small Chordoma and I need to see a Neuro Surgeon. I am freaking out because he was so nonchalant about it and everything I Google makes it look like I will be dead in five years. Anyone know anything about this?

that isn't right. Can you call a Doc and talk to them over the phone or something. I swear nurses can be so effing impersonal sometimes.

Try that, and if she was so blaa on the phone, that may be a good sign, and the fact that they gave it to a nurse..

She said " Did the Dr tell you about the reason why he had to order a CT scan?" I said "No" and she said " I guess then you dont know the results of it?" I said No and then she just said it like she was ordering take away for dinner. So I am just going to assume that if it was bad they would not tell you over the phone. I am going to get a copy of the reports to see what is in there.

Like anything else, it's not time to freak out until it's time to freak out.

So don't sweat it until you hear the whole thing from the doc and you KNOW the deal. Everything else is useless speculation that ends up freaking you out for what we all hope is no reason at all.

So don't get too worked up about it yet. Sit tight and just relax until they tell you what's what and how to beat it. Then focus on that. Worrying about this sort of thing doesn't help you at all. Of course it's hard as hell not to worry, but just get some focus and wait until you get the full word from the doc and how to move forward.

CT Scan Results: (Findings) The paranasal sinuses are free of disease. The mastoid air cells are well aerated. No depressed calvarial fractures are noted. In the clivius, there is a well defined lesion with sclerotic border measuring 1.6 x 1.2 cm in axial dimension. This is located to the midline extending toward the left midline. The orbits are unrearkable. No intra-axial fluid collections are seen. No midline shift is noted. No major vascular territory infarct is seen. No significant enhancement is seen in this lesion after contrast administration. Differential diagnosis includes chordoma or metastic disease. If patient has history of primary carcinoma, chordoma is favored in this age group.

Impression: A lucnet lesion in the clivus anterirorly and inferioly has a well defined sclerotic margin. This correlates with the abornamilty seen on recent MRI. Differential diagnosis favors a chordoma. Other considerations include metastatic disease.

OK I have got around to quit feeling sorry for myself and accept what is going on and do the best I can. The Cliff Note version is that I have a mass which is at the base of my skull right near my optic nerve and the pituitary gland. I have a Neurosurgeon and a Neuro Ophthalmologist talking with each other on what to do. My blood work is out of control and my Glucose is 124 so know I have to go ON a 1800 calorie a day diabetic diet until things calm down. So I am back, and taking it day by day.
