this is why they retired the fbody...it was so close to the price of the corvette , they didn't think they were making enough money keeping them around. But i might rather that camaro than the corvette believe it or not :P

The whole aspect of the Camaro was to get the engine performance of a Corvette (hense LS1 corvette and LS1 camaro, same exact engine), for a price that the average joe could afford (25K range).

you could get a v6 camaro for 22ish, i think the V8 was like a 2K option on teh Z28's, but still, in this new camaro, you cant have a v6 going for 23K and a V8 going for 32K.......it wont sell.

if the stripped down V8 model is going to be any more than 27Kish starting, they are asking for trouble.

Yes, but Hades has made his case (no less than 17 times in this one thread) that the Camaro is doomed because of it's price placement in the market.

I could give a shit less...I don't have stock in GM...their bonds got downgraded to junk anyway. Ford is right next to them in the gutter. I hope they both keep it together, but for foucksake...I like the car regardless of price. At 20k less than the vette, it is still a steal.

But you are right, I never said that at 30K I personally wouldnt buy one. Id still hit it.
