Actually, it was just reported that they bought and are refitting a facility in Canada for this project as it has reportedly gotten approval. I posted this above...... Quote:

I still say the vette Z06 is hands down, the best priced 'bang for your buck' sports car out there. That thing is running with Ferrari and Lambo's... and it costs over $100,000 less. And looks totally badass. |

But we are talking about a Camaro here, not a TA. WTF do i expect? I expect to be able to get a base model V8 camaro for about 25K. That is what made the Camaro so appealing in teh first place to muscle car owners. A muscle car, by definition, is a economically priced car with a powerful engine. When you start pricing modern 'muscle' cars at 30K+, they no longer have their appeal to the crowd thats looking around the 20-25K range. If chevy could make a 325hp LS1 go for 25K, they can make a 400hp LS2 go for 25K also. Im talking stripped down, no frills, thats it. Im calling it right now, if they make this car as heavy as and as expensive as the GTO, it wont sell, period. Ford did something right with the new mustang......kept the power at a solid 300hp to not make it outrageous, and built a affordable muscle car out of it. They didnt make the base V8 mustang 32K, and that is why you see them everywhere. |

Base...key word.
Not knocking your idea at all, but I have never known anybody who bought a base model sports car. Don't mistake me and think I don't beleive base models sell. lol Just saying, that's not what anybody I know would buy. Base model..aren't they planning a base model with a v6? Isn't the mustang base model a v6? I don't know, just asking. I think the killer about the rustang is the old school looks with new school drivability. That is a huge seller. The new Rustang is the best looking one I have ever seen...and I hate those things....but I wanted one of these. lol I agree that if the base model maro comes in at 30k...they are screwed. Gotta offer a lower price option for sure. |

Well look who it is lol. Why would you want a full frame on a modern day car instead of a unibody and IRS? ![]() |
