Default Pain in my wrist

About 3 months ago I was doing reverse wrist curls and noticed afterwards that my right wrist was very sore. Anyway, the situation has continued without any real healng and the pain is still there. As it is at the moment I cant really do alot of shoulder exercises and some tricep/bicep exercises either. The pain is on the outside of my wrist (nearest your little finger). Just wondering, does anyone know whats wrong with it? Im presuming its something to do with tendons or cartilage or something. If so, are their any good supplements I could take to help the recovery process. Thanks

Reverse wrist curls are notorious for causing painful/inflammed tendons (at least from my experience). It's possibly a wrist strain, which will take longer to heal the more weight is loaded upon it. Another possibility is tendonitis. THere is a sheath that covers the tendons and when it is strained, tendonitis is the outcome. If you can see an ortho, I'd reccomend it. They would be be able to pinpoint the problem, and send you to a Physical Therapist that can show you some exercises to help rehabilitate it. I'd take it easy if it keeps getting worse.

Oh and as far as supps go.... An OTC anti-inflammatory (such as ibuprofen) should temporarily ease the pain. But dont rely on it as it could mask the pain and result in further injury. Also try to Glucosamine+chondroitin+M SM which is sold at any health food store. Great stuff for all of your joints

Thanks lot aXe. I actually went to a doc about it and she told me its a sprained ligament, so I should just lay off the weights for a while and erst it.

Naw...I found out recently (as I stopped working out for about 2 months) that it takes a while until visible atrophy sets in.

I am having a similar problem... I seen an ortho and had an mri... they said they thought it was a torn ligament but now I have to see a hand specialist as I have both inflammation in both ligament and tendons and my wrist crackles when I move it around... I will know more next wednesday. By the way I hurt mine like that back in feb and still having challenges(but I just went to the doc today... so my fault)

Ill be interested in hearing how yours goes. I can do most chest exercises like bench and flys and so on without too much pain, but the following day or 2 it hurts alot.

Does anyone know how long it would take before I could be back lifting my max weigths again, or should I gradually build back up to those weights and lift lighter weights for a month (or longer?) ? Thanks

One of my mates told me to try this recipe because apparently itll heal ligaments in no time. Its the ingredients for "Dave Palumbo's special joint care supplement".

"1) 2000mg Glucosomine sulfate ( self explanatory really!)
2) 2000mg of MSM ( methylsulfonylmethane ) - this is an extrememly bioavailable form of sulphur. There are a large number of disulfide ( sulphur) bonds within connective tissue so this is providing something to replace and repair those with. this is used to treat artrithis as well so it should be available locally
3) Two table spoons of hydrolyzed animal collagen ( basically unflavoured gelatin )
4) 2000mg of Vitmain C."

So Ill give that a shot too if I can get my hjands on the ingredients
